Jumping...? Worried about it....? Need to talk to someone....?

For those who like to get down and get dirty, help is at hand with the newly opened dirt park at Da Keng in Taichung. Sponsored by Element bikes, this area features three beautifully sculpted table-top jumps surrounded by a bermed race circuit and other FR/XC trails. Although not yet fully completed, work is ongoing to develop the trails further. Thanks to the hard work by Chris Papworth and others in Taichung, Taiwan now has a venue for riders from all over Taiwan to get together and have fun. Regardless of your ability, the park has something for everyone.

The official opening was on Sunday 19th December and was a great success with a large number of riders and spectators attending. The occasion was celebrated with a BBQ throughout the afternoon and non-stop jumping action until well after sunset.

Directions can be obtained from the Three Peaks bike shop in Taichung. Please note, helmets must be worn and additional protective gear is highly recommended. This area can be visited at any time, although the greatest thing about this place is the opportunity to meet with other riders. A future event is scheduled for February 2005.
